Who Wants to be a Melonaire? {Frozen Watermelon Margaritas}

Jump to recipe

As promised, another watermelon recipe coming in hot! And this one is sure to quench your thirst and get the party started! You’ll be feeling like a melonaire in no time! Drum roll please…….INTRODUCING….THE BEAUTIFUL….TALENTED…INTOXICATING….AND ALL AROUND BEST…FROZEN WATERMELON MARGARITA!! (I’m seen off to the side holding up an “Applause” sign)(THIS MEANS CLAP).

In the spirit of all things summer, I knew that my series of watermelon recipes would be incomplete without a cocktail or two thrown in there. And what is better than a margarita to accompany your chips and gauc poolside?! NOTHING. Well, maybe my watermelon mojito but that’s up next.

This watermelon marg is super easy to put together, refreshing, and best of all pink!! Isn’t it cute?! Any cocktail that’s this pretty to look at and refreshing can be a dangerous combo, so remember to drink responsibly and limit yourself to 3 or 4 (kidding..but really). I use fresh frozen watermelon, lime juice, and orange juice to give it a refreshing tropical flavor and the beautiful coral pink color that it has.

Let’s get started.

Step 1: Slice ‘n dice em. Chop your watermelon into 1 inch cubes. Put your cut watermelon on a cookie sheet and place in freezer and freeze solid. One the melon is frozen remove and place in a plastic bag. Keep in the freezer until drink mixing time.

Step 2: Well blended. Place all the ingredients in your food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Give it a taste test. If you want it to taste a little more boozy add another shot of tequila.

Step 3: Shake ya glass, watch ya self. Feel free to salt the rim of your glass. I am a no salt type of gal, but most people love it. Pour marg into glass. Garnish with a watermelon wedge or slice of lime.

So, you want to cook? Right? Isn't that why you're here? Fine. I will help you. Not because we're friends yet, but because I'm trying to be welcoming. This IS after all my space that you've barged in on (unannounced mind you) in that little white....wait a minute...are you wearing a chef's hat? Goodness, you're darling!! You've won me over already. So.....what did you have in mind? Seared Foi Grois? Seven hour leg of lamb? Perhaps a simple Sicilian bolognese? "YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!" Then, teach you I shall. I am warning you though, when you come here use caution. You will leave hungry. Inspired? Yes. But, hungry most definitely...
